Early Years Foundation Stage
EYFS — Dickory Docks Educational Day Nursery
What is the EYFS?
At Dickory Docks Day Nursery, our curriculum follows the guidance from The Development Matters.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is a comprehensive framework which sets the standards for learning, development, and care of children from birth to 5 years. The EYFS is a statutory requirement for all OFSTED registered childcare settings.
7 Areas of Learning and Development
The EYFS consists of 7 areas of learning and development goals:
Within each area, there are a number of aims which we endeavour that most children will have achieved by the end of the foundation stage (first year of school).
Tapestry Online Journal
Here at Dickory Docks Day Nursery, we use an online journal recording all your child's learning called Tapestry. Tapestry enables us to capture special moments throughout your child's day, and we will upload photos, videos, and text.
It also makes sharing your special moments with us much easier as you are also able to upload photos, videos, and text. Staff use this to monitor children's development and create next steps from what they have observed.
