Curriculum

We plan learning experiences and activities for children, to support your child’s development based on the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS, 2021). These skills help to support your children in working towards skills, understanding and knowledge. We provide a well planned curriculum to help children take their learning forward and to provide opportunities for all children. Children are unique and are encouraged reaching out and relating through the characteristics of effective leaning.  This helps leaning and development across all areas and support the child’s learning.

Each room is run by highly qualified Nursery practitioners, who ensures daily planned activities and routines are followed.

At Dickory Docks Educational Day Nursery, children are provided with a wide variety and fun activities, which introduces new skills and ensuring that the children enjoys learning with  our fully qualified teaching staff.

Children enjoy a wide variety of trips and outings, such as theatre, libraries and any other places of interest, which parents are encouraged to join.

The staff provides continual development assessments with written reports for each child. We use Tapestry as our online Learning Journey as this provides an easy way to see your child’s progress. Using the Tapestry phone App, you are also able to contribute to your child’s learning journey.

Children at Dickory Docks Day Nursery are taught the value of friendship, honesty, fairness, manners and respect for others. We promote an equal opportunities policy for all children. We celebrate all festivals, traditional from many different cultures.

We pride ourselves on ensuring that all our children are well prepared to make a smooth and easy transition to school.
