How Breakfast Club is planned to work

The design of the service is deliberately simple: children arrive early, eat breakfast, have time for quiet play and then move into the room and routine they already know.

One early handover rather than separating breakfast from the nursery day.

The concept menu includes simple breakfast foods such as cereal, toast, fresh fruit and milk or juice.
Quiet play
Books, stories and low-key play create a gentler start before the full nursery day begins.

At 8am children move into their normal room and continue the day with familiar people and routines.

Useful for working parents. Thoughtful for children.
An earlier start is only helpful if it still feels like good early-years care. The proposed Breakfast Club avoids a rushed, transactional handover by creating time to eat, settle and reconnect before busier room activity begins.
For existing nursery rooms
Designed to feed naturally into the day.
The intention is that Breakfast Club supports children who already attend Dickory Docks, rather than creating a separate stand-alone childcare experience.

Early-start arrangements must still respect individual feeding, sleep and comfort routines.

Children can eat, settle and then move directly into their established pre-school routine.
